Guwahati Biotech Park and NEMCARE Group of Institutions, Mirza exchanged an MoU to incubate the interest of research amongst the entrepreneurs and students of North-East India
Signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Central Drug Research Centre, NIPS, NEMCARE Group of Institutions and Guwahati Biotech Park, Govt. of Assam on 5th March, 2022 at DC Office, Amingaon, North Guwahati for scientific collaboration.
The Memorandum of Understanding between Central Drug Research Centre, NIPS, NEMCARE Group of Institutions (NGI), Mirza and Guwahati Biotech Park, Govt. of Assam was signed at the DC Office, Amingaon, North Guwahati on 5th March, 2022. Dr. Bhargab Jyoti Sahariah, Principal, NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science from NEMCARE Group of Institutions and Shri Kailash Karthik N, IAS, Chief Executive Officer and First Appellate Authority from Guwahati Biotech Park, Govt. of Assam inked the MoU.
The signing ceremony started with exchange of greetings between the Chief Executive Officer, Guwahati Biotech Park, Govt. of Assam and Principal, NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science from NEMCARE Group of Institutions (NGI). The Chief Executive Officer of Guwahati Biotech Park (GBP) mentioned that today’s signing sets a significant milestone for closer research collaboration among the scientists/researchers/faculties of both the institutions. He expressed extreme happiness for building a new relationship between NGI & GBP. He also spoke about various measures to be taken in promoting research, innovation and technology. He applauded the Principal of NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science for creating a positive environment for students, faculty and staff and building an excellent state of the art infrastructure which educates students and prepares them to succeed in their careers and in life. Following the signing of MoU, an interactive meeting was held between the Principal, NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and the Chief Executive Officer, Guwahati Biotech Park who is also the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Rural district, Govt. of Assam along with the Scientists/ Faculties/ Officials representing from both the institutions. In the meeting, it was discussed that through this MoU, both the institutions agreed to undertake joint research & project works and to upgrade the research facilitated work with respect to pharmaceuticals for the benefit of the society, to mentor the incubatees of GBP by the experienced faculties of NIPS to give a product-based orientation to their valuable research work, joint organization of skill-based training/ professional programmes to nurture their students/startups and incubatees, to facilitate joint seeking of funds and conduct of research by submitting proposals jointly to different funding agencies, training and consultancy with industries/institutions in India/abroad and to generate intellectual property right (IPR) through the collaborative research programmes.
The Principal of NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science extended a heartfelt thanks to the Chief Executive Officer of Guwahati Biotech Park, Govt. of Assam for the extensive support and all the work done to bring this Memorandum of Understanding to fruition. He gave away brief appraisal about the research activities undertaken by the institution so far since its inception. He also mentioned that it will establish strong and collaborative relations between the two institutions to promote friendship and to cooperate in a mutually beneficial association that promotes the interests of the poor, protect the environment, provide basic social services or undertake community development in a society and urged the scientists/ researchers/ faculties of both the institution to carry forward joint research between the two institutions in the areas of mutual interest in the area of health sector and others of societal benefit.
